So it's Christmas time, even if you don't celebrate Christmas, you've surly noticed the inflatable, fifty foot fat man in a BRIGHT RED SUIT, sitting outside every store. Now don't get me wrong, Christmas can be alright sometimes. Getting/ giving gifts is nice, and of course, for some, there is a deeper meaning. I still don't like Christmas, and I'm not the only one. We hear it in songs and in movies and basically everywhere around this time or year, all the complaining about lines and having to go to Christmas plays and THE DECORATING!!!!! ( uuuuuuuuuugggggggggg hang me with the tree lights) JUST TO TAKE IT ALL DOWN THE NEXT MONTH!!! Christmas is like the flash mob of holidays, one minuet every store is playing "Winter Wonderland" and the next people are burning their trees in the backyard. Sure people try to make up for their apparent lack of humanity around the holidays by "spending time with their families" but in the end they all just end up playing on their phones, or tearing each other inside out trying to create a Facebook worthy moment. Until, they're not. every now and again you get those few seconds of peace. Weather its a thank you from a usually ungrateful child or the silence of cuddling on the couch after the world has tired of it's new toys. My personal favorite time is Christmas eve, that's when I wrap my presents, sitting there on the couch (sometimes on the floor) covered in tape, tags and, happiness. Making the box look all pretty and clean. smelling the ink as i write the names on the little stickers, and imagining their face when they see whats inside, it's my favoite. So, althogh Cristmas gets on my LAST NERVE sometimes, and it's still a holoday worth dreading every year, some moments are worth wating for, and when they happen, they're beautiful.
